Visa Consulting Service
The University of Tokyo is providing visa consulting services for foreign researchers and
international students throughout the university from November 2006 in order promptly to
respond to questions about visa status and to reduce the burden on Todai faculty members and
administrative staff hosting international students and foreign researchers.

- As of July 1, 2010, the amended Immigration Control Act partially came into force. The amendments include integrating the foreign student residence statuses of "College Student" and "Pre-College Student" and procedures on granting permission for foreign college students and foreign pre-college students to engage in activity other than that already approved.
- Please note that effective from June 4, 2010, application fees for U.S. non-immigrant visa have increased.
- The US visa consulting service has started as a trial from April 2008.

- The Automated Gate service has started on 20th November at Narita Airport!

When you use the automated gates, unless you so request, we will not stamp an authorized seal
of embarkation/disembarkation in your passport. If you need a seal, ask the official to stamp it at this
time.
